A.Objective & Purpose

Established in 1974 under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning & Development Act 1973, LDA has progressed from small beginnings to embrace an overreaching authority in the development scenario of Lucknow. In consonance with the aspirations of modern India, LDA aims at coordinated and planned development of a historical city: to enable Lucknow to achieve pride of place as the worthy capital of the largest State of the country which has played a very important role in the Freedom Struggle, to extend urban infrastructure to absorb the pressures of a rapidly changing society, and to provide an environment which would enable the utmost satisfaction level of all sections of its inhabitants.

B.Mission/Vision statement of the public Authority
|
- Development of Pollution free Planned Colonies healthy and Eco-friendly Atmosphere and Environment.
- Development of Gomtinagar Scheme on Lucknow Faizabad Highway at approx. 5 km. distance from Hazaratganj and Vidhan Sabha with sector wise development of Residential/ Commercial, Multiplex, Office and School Plots
- Planned Sectorwise Development of Residential/ Commercial, Multiplex, Office and School Plots at Hardoi Road Scheme, which is just 4 km. from Medical College, 5 km. from Sitapur Road Highway and 3 km. from Historical Places of Lucknow like "Bhool Bhulaiyan", "Chota Imambada", "Ghantaghar"
- Planned Sectorwise Development of Residential/ Commercial, Multiplex, Office and School Plots at Kanpur Road Scheme, which is just 5 km. from Charbagh Railway Station, 3 km. from Amausi Airport.
- Planned Sectorwise Development of Residential/ Commercial, Multiplex, Office and School Plots at Sitapur Road Scheme near Engineering College and New Building of Lucknow University- Law Faculty.
- Allotment of 8000 houses under "Ashrayaheen Yojna" built in Para, Hardoi Road, Gomtinagar, Shardanagar, Jankipuram to Shelterless persons at a payment scheme of Rs. 5/-, 10/-,15/- per day. Under this scheme the houses are made available to the persons displaced in Road Broadening, construction of Bridges etc.
- More pace is given to Planned Development by allotment of land on license to Private Builders like Ansal, Unitech, Eldeco etc.
- Beautification and Renovation work at various Public Places of Lucknow
- Development of a huge ground with the name of "Ambedkar Railly Sthal" for the purpose of Political Meetings, Exhibitions and Mahotsav. This has reduced the un-necessary traffic pressure during these tenures.
- Development of Kaiserbagh Heritage Zone in the heart of the city near Kaiserbagh Baradari with beautification of Begum Hazratmahal Park, Subhash Park, Laxman Park and Parivartan Chowk.
- Development of Kudiyaghat Picnic Spot on the banks of Gomti river at Hussainabad Chowk.
- Renovation of the old Lohia Park in Chowk area. Also a huge Lohia Park is being developed in Gomtinagar Scheme. The inauguration of this park was done by Hon. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. The speciality of this park is that 96 % of the total area is being developed as Green Space and Herbal park.
- To facilitate the Public implementation of Single Window Computerised Counters at which 5570 applications had been received in last 5 months. Out of these 5496 applications had been disposed off which is 96.93 % of the total applications received.
- To extend the Public Facilities, Multi Dimensional Website has been launched which provides a brief of all the departmental functioning as well as provides online facilities like enquiry of registrations/ allotments/Dues/ Deposits/ Lotteries/ tenders/ Press Releases etc.
- Keeping in View the demand in Gomtinagar Scheme, development of Highway " Amar Shaheed Path" joining the Faizabad Road and Kanpur Road and an ultra modern Scheme - Gomtinagar Extension has been introduced.
- Successful implementation of One Time Settlement Scheme ( OTS) for the defaulters of old allotments, in which more than 20000 cases had been disposed.
- To facilitate the Public every month two camps for Registry and one camp for Map approval are being organised. In the camps same day the registry is being done or the permit of Map Sanction is being issued.
